Welcome to the blogspot of HEAL, the Hospital Equity & Access Lobby in the Blue Mountains, near Sydney. This page exists to give our community access to information and updates regarding the delivery of services at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital. Sadly, in recent years our hospital has reduced the range of basic, primary health care services it provides to Mountains residents. We need to keep our hospital functioning and your support is vital.

BMDAMH Used to Routinely Provide Minor Surgical Services
No Longer! For any of the following services, Mountains residents have to travel to Nepean Hospital (and beyond).
Eye surgery including cataracts
Arthroscopic Surgery
Closed Reductions
Skin Lesions
Removal of lumps and tumours
Hysteroscopies
Dilatation and Curettage
Hernia repair
Appendix removal
Dental Surgery
Lap Cholectomy
Colonoscopy
Gastroscopy
So what are our two local, well equipped operating theatres used for?
Eye surgery including cataracts
